July 11 Family and friendsDon't forget to let your friends and family know how much you appreciate them. I have some wonderful friends and family. And I have some friends and family that make me angry but I still love them. I have been making time to spend talking and doing activities with friends and family. It is very worthwhile! Have a wonderful day to all of you and know that I love and appreciate you all! World EconomyWhen did the USA get so involved in the World economy? Why can't we take care of our own country first and then others? We have so many needs of our people here and yet because of politics things can't be taken care of the way they should. When are the prices of gas and utilities and insurance and houses going to come down? When are the salaries and hourly wages going to go up? Why do people from other countries get better treatment here than those of us that grew up here? I know so many people of all walks of life struggling (including myself) and it just shouldn't be this way in this country. What are ways we can make changes? TimeTime
Never enough time Always rushing to and fro Oh it makes my head ache so Bills to pay Someone wanting to have the last say We need to stop and look around us Forget about all the fuss Enjoy the scenery Smile at that person who is so ornery Forget about yourself Put your ego on the shelf Make the time Give a dime So take the time to care It doesn’t hurt to share. Never enough time June 05 Make your life count! This weekend was filled with family fun times at a family reunion and also family sad times. My mom, dad, brother and I attended a memorial service for an older gentleman from the church I grew up in. In the past 2 months that family has had 2 sons and now the father die. The church was overflowing with people for the service. It was a very touching ceremony. Two preachers did the service. One was the past preacher and one was the current preacher. Hymns were sang and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. Music was played and sung while videos were shown of this family. The message came across from both preachers that God is greater than all our sorrows. Also, it was a lesson to all of us not to take life for granted and to spend time with friends and family and to live our life for God. May 22 Fun in the SunOk, I admit it I need a vacation!!!!! I want sun and fun in the sun!!! But it will have to wait for now. Whew! Always hurry up and wait!
May has been interesting so far.
I had a visit from my brother,sister-in-law and niece. That was really nice!
My roof still isn't fixed from the tornados 2 months ago. Nothing leaking yet but it is close.
Several closings had to be delayed due to houses needing roofs or siding replaced due to the tornados.
I have seen several other movies worth seeing. One was "In Her Shoes" and one was "Monster In Law". I will have to get the names of some of the others.
I listed an awesome house and have shown several great ones, too.
That's all for now. April 28 Well that was an interesting month!Well, I turned 39 this month and all heck broke loose! This month has been just plain stupid! Thank goodness it is almost over. But I have to keep busy because I have a whole lot of things to accomplish by my 40th birthday!
I had to take my continued education classes this month so I can renew my real estate license. Some of the classes were fantastic and others just a total waste of time. Anyway, now that is over for another year. Whew!
I have watched more movies this month. I enjoy movies!! I also read 3 books this month. I have to do something in the middle of the night!
For Easter I went to sunrise service and breakfast with my mom and daddy. It was great except the service was too short and they didn't serve communion. Weird! Then I went to my grandpa's farm. My grandparents on my biological father's side are still living. They are 96. My father and my stepmom live there, too. I got to see my dog. They are keeping her until I get another place where I can keep her. I played golf with one of my nephews and then played pitch and catch with my nephew and my dog. March 23 Movie ReviewsMovie review time:
This is a must see family friendly movie! It is called "Dreamer" starring Kurt Russell,Kris Kristofferson,Dakota Fanning, and Elisabeth Shue. It is based on a true story about a horse and a family. There is no cussing in this movie and no sex scenes and yet it is an awesome movie! Rent the DVD and watch all the special features first. It has a lot of info and it is fun to see how they put it all together. It is a story about having faith to try, never giving up, and having the courage to stand up for what you believe is right, and to take chances. It is about families mending old wounds and finding a common goal. Oh and there are some beautiful scenes shot in Lexington Kentucky. Wonderful horse country. I have personally met Kurt Russell and he is the real deal. He is a gentleman and opens doors for people and he truly cares about other people. He and Goldie Hawn are very committed to each other and when they are together they are really kind to each other and very funny, too. I never heard either of them cuss. Maybe in some movies they have had to for their roles but I would say it isn't very often. I would put this movie "Dreamer" on the list to see soon.
OH, add "Walk the Line" to the must see list, too! Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix did amazing jobs portraying June Carter and Johnny Cash! No wonder they won awards! I have seen June Carter and Johnny Cash many times live in concert over the past 38 years. My dad and my uncle both sang and played Johnny Cash songs. Plus when I was in Tennessee I went to see the Carter Family in Virginia. So I know a bit about the families. I was astonished at how well Reese and Joaquin played and sang. I sense a sequel in the next few years due to the fact they left the story just when June and Johnny finally got married. There are still approx. 35 years to cover from that time until their deaths. |
